INSTRUCTIONS

The Comox Valley Classified Ads system is a product of W-3Productions and is provided as a public service to the local community. All that we ask is that you don't abuse the system. When entering an ad or a listing under the "Business Links", make sure that you provide information in each field of the form you fill out. It is important that you enter a correct E-mail address when posting an ad because the system automatically sends you an E-Mail message confirming your ad and giving you instructions on how you can update or delete the ad you entered.

To keep the system running efficiently we ask all participants to DELETE any ad they've left when it is no longer needed and has already done the job for you. This will also prevent you from being bothered by those who try to respond to your ad when what you're selling is already sold.

By posting any ad on this system, you agree that you've read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use.

Hints & Tips

Searching for Ads

If you're looking for a particular item within a section of the system, you can enter a string within the search field. Click the Search button will bring up all ads that contain the string you're searching for.

Viewing Ads

You should first select the category that interests you and then click the View Ads button. If you don't select a category first, you'll get a listing of all the ads in the section you are using.

Describing Your Ad

When you fill in a new ad, each ad has a "Title" and a "Description". The former should be short and to the point. The "Description" field only holds up to 250 characters. If you exceed this amount, you'll be told so when you submit the ad, so that you're given an opportunity to trim down this field.

Save Your UserID and Password

You'll need this information should you wish to make changes to your ad or delete the ad when it is no longer necessary to keep it listed. When you submit a new ad, you'll receive an email message gives you further information, along with recording your UserID and Password. Please save this email message for future reference.

Selecting Which Section to Use

Be careful to place your ad in the appropriate section. It will make it easier for people to find your ad.

Creating a Banner Ad

If you want a banner ad on this web site, we can create one for you, or if you wish, you can create your own. Banner ads MUST be 450 pixels wide by 60 pixels high, in GIF format with a size no larger than 12KB.

Creating a Photo for your Ad

If you want a photo to go with your ad, you'll need to create one that is a JPG file, 100 pixels high by 150 pixels wide. These image files cannot be larger than 20KB in size. If you don't have a means to create a photo, you can contact us and we'll take the photo for you with a digital camera. Contact us for prices.
